Karachi electronic duo of Kamil Bader and Saad Memon aka ‘Distorted Minds’ ignore all structural cliche’s and create a hypnotic, almost meditative track that remains stoic and untroubled throughout. With longer tracks, especially those over 7 minutes, the need for some kind of build or breakdown seems almost a pre-requisite. On ‘Azka’, though, there’s a sense of steadfastness, of holding through, of keeping on. The artwork of a psychedelic desert is apt: relentless and unending.
A lonely guitar plucks a sad little tune over a marching electronic beat. It’s pretty lovely stuff, and by the end you may have lost track of time.
